This website is a labor of love. We work to keep it updated, write new content, and continually maintain it. We are proud of our home state of Mississippi and all of its actors, writers, dancers, artists, and musicians. We hope that you enjoy this website and find the information interesting.
We spend hundreds of hours each year working on this website. As a result, we have costs associated with the upkeep and maintenance of this website. To support the maintenance, hosting, domain registration, and other services required for this website, we participate in the use of Google Adwords.
Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel
This website uses Google Analytics to measure traffic to the website. This helps us determine how well the content we create is serving our customers and what we need to do to improve our website. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using this browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/. Find out more about the information collected by Google Analytics here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.
You can opt out by using the Google Analytics Opt Out Browser add on.
We have implemented the following applications:
- Demographics and Interests Reporting
- Facebook Pixel for custom audience advertisement retargeting
We, along with third-party vendors such as Google and Facebook, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) or other third-party identifiers together to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions and other ad service functions as they relate to our website. This website may also allow third-party behavioral tracking.
Facebook Pixel conversion tracking helps us measure the effectiveness of our Facebook ads and the return on investment for these ads by reporting actions people take after viewing those ads. No personal information is collected as a result of the use of these pixels.
Google Ads – The DoubleClick cookie
The DoubleClick cookie is used by Google in the ads served on the websites of its partners, such as websites displaying AdSense ads or participating in Google certified ad networks. When users visit a partner’s website and either view or click on an ad, a cookie may be dropped on that end user’s browser.
- Google’s use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to visitors based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of the use of the DoubleClick cookie for interest-based advertising by visiting Ads Settings.
Third-party advertisers may also place and read cookies on your browser and/or use web beacons to collect information. Mississippi Writers and Musicians has no access or control over these cookies. You should review the respective privacy policies on any and all third-party ad servers for more information regarding their practices and how to opt-out.

If you leave a comment on this blog, it requires that you fill out your email address and a name or user ID. It also collects an IP address for you and you can fill out a website or not. I don’t do anything with this information but utilize it to see if you are who you say you are and whether or not your comment is appropriate for this blog. I do not sell or send your information anywhere else. If you are concerned about this, it’s simple – don’t leave a comment. 🙂
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

- Website analytics: Website analytics information is retained for 26 months. The analytics data is anonymized and does not collect IP addresses.
